New Mums! How to Have a Royally Fabulous Babymoon

Like everyone else, we’re all over the moon after the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s little Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana – how adorable are those first pictures of the newest addition to the Royal Family?

And if you’re a new mum – or soon to be one, we thought we’d treat you to some special tips on how to make the most of those precious early days, and ensure you get to feel wonderful too.

Because whether it’s your first-born or the latest addition to your brood – those magical days go away all too soon! So read on and check out our suggestions for a royally fab babymoon.

Take the time to have a babymoon

First and foremost, parents – make sure you give yourself the time to enjoy a little ‘babymoon’.

In a fast paced world, it can be super-tempting to try to rush back into the flow of things and jump back into your normal patterns. It’s even harder when you’ve got older children already running around and demanding your attention.

So why is it so important to take those early days easy?

New mums will find that their bodies are in a huge state of transition – mentally and physically. You might be feeling tired, emotional, and sore. And the last thing you really want to do is tackle that pile of dishes or paperwork!

So let yourself enjoy those early days and relax. After all, there’s nothing quite like all those new-born cuddles and smooches!

Indulge in lots of tasty treats

Here’s a tip for anyone who knows someone about to have a baby. If you’re stuck on gift ideas, forget about the silver baby rattle, or even flowers and jewellery.

Instead, pop over with a tray of your yummiest culinary creations – whether it’s a huge tray of lasagne, a basket full of freshly baked cookies and muffins, or even a hamper full of fresh fruit.

Along with a very handy TNS gift card for a special pamper, of course!

Trust us – they’ll really, really love you for it.

The last thing any new mum wants to do is spend time in the kitchen – especially with a demanding new born on hand! Having lots of wholesome, healthy and nourishing food to hand is a great way of feeling a little more relaxed, and gives new parents the opportunity to make the most of this time.

It also gives you an excuse to go around and pinch those adorable baby cheeks!

Have a soak and unwind

One of all time favourite ways to unwind has to be in the bath, AKA our homemade spa.

Beautiful, flickering candles, our favourite music playing in the background, and the soothing scent of natural oils shimmering out of the warm water.

Treat yourself to a bath whenever you can – during naptime, or schedule yourself a little me-time, by asking a partner or other family members to take over baby duties.

While it might seem indulgent, taking the time to relax yourself will be hugely beneficial to both you and your family. For instance, not only are baths natural mood boosters – did you know that they can also help to sharpen up your memory? And if you’re having difficulty sleeping, a hot bath is a perfect way to encourage your body to nod off naturally.

Even better – treat yourself to an extra special pamper to make you feel wonderfully glamorous again. Take your cue from the mum of the moment – the Duchess of Cambridge – who emerged looking totally stunning after her bedside manicure and blow dry!

While you might not be facing the world’s press after the birth of your little one, that special me-time can do wonders to boost your confidence, and give an extra feel-good factor. Tempted? Why not check out our special spa packages just for mums?

We hope you enjoyed our suggestions – and we’d love to hear yours! What are your favourite ideas for relaxing after a baby? Drop us a line!
