New York’s over, London and Milan are out, but there’s still Paris to go! Whether you’re following the hot off the runway trends straight from the FROW or like most of us in front of a computer, it’s high time for high fashion, so put your best foot forward and fall into a fashion frenzy.
If you have model looks, a super chic wardrobe and a great PR, you might find yourself in the thick of Fashion Week action, but for everyone else, you can take spring/summer 2016 style to the streets straight from the catwalk with our Fashion Week Truth or Dare. Will you play it safe or be bold with next season’s style?
Dare – Nail the Look!
2016 nail trends take nail-art to a new level of modern simplicity – from metallics at Alice + Olivia and Phillip Lim, bright coloured French manicures seen at Monique Lhuillier and slicks of white by Miss Pop for Orly at Marissa Webb.
We love snooping through essie Middle East’s Instagram for nail-spiration and have tried our hand (pun intended) at recreating some of S/S 2016 nail trends for ourselves. Follow us on Instagram for fabulous nail-art designs and ideas coming soon @thenailspa_me.
Truth – Kiss and Make Up
New York Fashion week makeup was all about keeping it natural.
Copycat Rag & Bone and Michael Kors by keeping your makeup simple, your eyebrows big and and your hair in a loose ponytail. The ‘I just woke up like this’ look has never been easier, hurrah!
Dare – Be Bold Over
Bye bye 2015 monocrome and preppy pastels, hello explosion of colour and print!
Canary yellow and jungle green were firm favourites at Milan Fashion Week, sending out bursts of colour down the runways at Versace and Moschino. We can’t wait to try out next season’s trends: a mish-mash of colours, patterns and asymmetrical shapes.
Truth – Access(ory) All Areas!
NY fashion week has been blingalicious! We love Vogue’s round up of NYFW accessory trends. With the trend for small, understated block heels looking like it’s going to carry us through to next summer (our feet are very grateful), the focus is on bejeweled clutches, body chains and humongous earrings.
Our advice? Don’t go overboard.
Mix up patterned prints with simple makeup and a small metallic heel, or if you’re doing the Alexa Chung look, keep it casual with Adidas trainers and a baggy shift.
And there you have it. Our top tips for looking like you’ve been to fashion week, even if you haven’t.
We can’t wait to hear your fashion week goss’, so don’t forget to keep us in the know in our comments section or tell us what you think of the SS16 trends?
Send us your pictures and stories and don’t forget to share!
