When you’re a top celebrity, you need to make sure that you look as glamorous and gorgeous as possible.
Which means an awful lot of pampering and preening – not to mention clocking some serious time in the gym!
While we don’t envy all those crazy hours they spend with their personal trainers on the treadmill, we’re pretty fascinated by what they do to look as beautiful as possible. And as it turns out – there are some pretty crazy beauty routines out there!
Would you try any of them – or are they too far off the scale for you?
Bee Sting Facials
Yes. Bee stings.
And if you’ve ever been stung by a bee, then you’re probably wondering how on earth this might help your beauty routine.
Bee venom in facials can help to plump up skin, improve elasticity, reduce scars and wrinkles and help it feel much more rejuvenated. And just in case you’re worried, there are no actual bee stings involved – the bee venom is extracted safely first, without harming bees.
An organic alternative to Botox, pioneered by beauty therapist and skincare expert Deborah Mitchell, claims to be a needle-free shortcut to youthful, line-free skin. Her celebrity clients include Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow. But her biggest achievement – giving The Duchess of Cambridge a bee venom facial at Clarence House a few days before the Royal wedding!
Deborah’s organic skincare range, Heaven by Deborah Mitchell is available at The Nail Spa and you can even book in for one of five dreamy Heavenly Facials including the Bee-Sting! It really is all the buzz (sorry!) So if it’s good enough for Kate…
The 24 Karat Facial
Wow. A solid gold facial?
That’ll certainly give you a radiant glow!
A while ago, supermodel Bar Rafaeli showed off her stunning gold facial on Instagram – and she’s not the only celeb indulging in this. But does it really work, or is it just a very expensive pamper?
A gold facial involves micro-dermabrasion, a blast of oxygen and a gold serum, to prep the skin, making it feel plump and lifted. After that, you can look forward to having your face covered in 24-carat gold leaf.
But this isn’t a new celebrity trend – in fact the top A-listers of historic times, including Cleopatra, were using gold for its naturally healing properties.
It might have a celebrity price tag – but if you’re looking for that gorgeous celebrity glow, this might be the perfect way to get it!
The Vampire Facial
Far less glamorous than the other two, this one might need nerves of steel.
A “Vampire Facial” is just as bloody as the name sounds. It works by using your own blood and then separating its components into red and white plasma cells, before injecting it back into your face.
How does it work? The concentrated plasma cells that are extracted from your blood, are rich in growth factors. When they’re injected into your face, they might help to stimulate collagen regrowth, firming up the skin and restoring its natural youthful glow.
With Kim Kardashian famously posting about her own experience of the Vampire Facial on her Instagram, we’ve got to admit, we’re more than a little curious about it!
What about you? Are you brave enough to try one of these crazy celebrity facials, or do you have your very own kooky routine? We’d love to know!
