Glam up your holiday makeup with three celebrity inspired looks that’ll have you look gorgeous in minutes!
Lady in Red
Margot Robbie Oscars’ beauty look is a classic which makes it ideal for any festive occasion.
Face: Once you’ve moisturized and primed the face – buff in your foundation. Follow that with a concealer that’s a shade or two lighter than your base, apply that in a V-shape under the eyes and blend it out. Apply a translucent powder all over the face to set the makeup. Use a matte finish bronzer in the hollows of the cheek to contour and follow that with rosy blush dusted onto the cheeks.
Eyes: Keep it simple with your eyes and opt for a set of Let’s Go Lashes at The Nail Spa for a glam but natural look. Finish the eyes off with two eyeshadows, start with a sparkly copper shade and use a tapered eyeshadow brush to line the lower lash line with it. Next use a bright gold shadow and dust it on the inner corner of the eye where the eye creates a ‘C’ to open up and brighten the eyes. Finish with mascara on the lower lashes.
Lips: Line your lips with a bright red lip liner. Next use a lip brush to apply lipstick for precision. It’s really important when applying a bright lip to be detailed. Use a concealer brush, and some concealer to cover up any lipstick bleeds or imperfections for a perfect pout.
Sparkly Lights
Gigi Hadid at AMA’s rocked the freshest, dewy make-up look that’s especially perfect for a festive brunch.
Face: After priming your face, use a cream highlight on your cheekbones, forehead, chin and cupids bow. After blending out the highlight, use a moisturizing foundation and buff it in until it looks like second skin. Dust on a finishing powder with a fan brush so the make-up is set but skin doesn’t look too matt or cakey. Finish with a peachy blush.
Eyes: Start with a satin copper eyeshadow in the crease of the eye buffing it out slightly towards the brow bone. For the lid and inner corner of the eye use a bright gold shadow and pat it on. Before applying mascara, use a gel black liner and smudge on a slight wing.
Lips: Apply a nude peach creamy lipstick and add a gold shimmery gloss on the centre of the lips to make them look fuller.
Sixties Siren
Rosie Huntington Whiteley at Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2015 gave us a sultry sixties look that’s perfect for any party.
Face: Apply a matte foundation and use a damp makeup sponge to blend it in. Next use a concealer with a slight shimmer to illuminate the under eye area and cover any imperfections. Set the foundation with loose powder and the under eye area with a fine setting powder. Use your favourite bronzer from the forehead, to the temples and down and along the cheek instead of using a blush. Next go in with a matte brown powder or bronzer to contour.
Eyes: Start with a peachy brown shade in the crease of the eye and bring it out to create a wing. Keep the rest of the lid natural. Use a liquid of pen eyeliner and dot on where you’d like the winged eyeliner to end, then create another two dots along the lid to map out your winged liner – connect the dots for a clean, precise cat eye.
Lips: For the lips, line them with a lip shade that is slightly peachier than your lips natural colour. Once you’ve outlined your lips, fill them in with the liner and finish with a matching creamy lipstick that has a slight sheen.
