Coming Up High in the Style Stakes – at the Dubai World Cup!

Glamour and horse racing go together like the perfect combination – all the drama, adrenaline and excitement, alongside a rush to be the most stylish person there – that’s just as competitive as the action on the tracks!

So we were thrilled to be at one of the most glammed up events on the calendar this year – the one and only Dubai World Cup!

We weren’t the only ones eyeing up the fashion scene during the event though – the judges behind the Jaguar Style Stake awards, including the ever-fashionable TalaSamman, were also casting their discerning eye over every fascinator and bow tie passing their way.

And we were really pleased to see that the attendees definitely amped up their fashion game, especially for the event.

A special pamper – in between races!

As a sponsor for this very special set of prizes for attendees, we gave away lots of fantastic prizes – but we were also on hand for any last minute beauty emergencies or pampering pick-me-ups!

Snuggled up in the Pamper Lounge – we got to chill with some of the loveliest ladies from Laura Mercier, Marquee and Sensasia Spa – whose hand and feet massages were absolutely heavenly.

And of course – we were primed and ready – to brighten up manicures, add an extra splash of nail art  – and to fix any dreaded chipped nails! Definitely not a good look if you planned to come up top in the Style Stakes.

So who were the lucky winners of the day?

The Thoroughbreds of Style

When the judging panel is composed of some of the greats from the fashion and design world, including AlanoudBadr, the amazing designer behind Lady Fozaza, menswear designer Dom Bagnato, Nicola Gibson from Jaguar, and of course, Tala, you know that you’re really going to have to dig deep to impress.

And impress, they certainly did. We think it was especially tough to pick a best-dressed lady and gentleman – with over 1,000 entries coming in, and some incredible looks being shown off.

Mary Behan scooped the Best Dressed Lady award – showing that you don’t need designer labels to look ultra stylish! Wowing the judges in a floral number from Miss Selfridge, she looked both elegant and contemporary – perfect for the youthful vibe of the event.

The Best Dressed Man of the event was the dandyish Marlon Weir – in a look inspired by the movie adaptation of the Great Gatsby – with a touch of vintage flair with an original 1920s hat.

No surprise – given that he also stole the scene last year, too!

And the coveted title of Best Hat went to one of our favourite fashionistas, Natalia Shustova.

Winning the prize two years in a row, the fashionable socialite impressed the judging panel with a custom designed creation inspired by Chanel, featuring delicate pearls set amongst a show-stopping black tulle headpiece. A perfect compliment to her monochrome outfit, we thought.

But there were plenty of other stylish outfits to enjoy on display too – take a browse at some of the best here.

From minimalist, barely-there fascinators and gorgeously romantic floral blossoms, to some spectacularly outlandish creations, it was definitely the place to show off your creativity!
